Aguirre’s work consists of flat compositions with continued use of organic forms, playing with negative and positive space through the use of color and texture. Rooted in graffiti but expanding on the process of style writing, Aguirre's paintings form a fusion of hard edge color field painting, abstracted typography, and intuitive design. While not depicting specific letter characters, the accumulation of segments and forms come together in a similar way that the arrangement of words do. As a believer that words cannot always articulate the range of emotion and feeling that we encounter as humans, Aguirre sees his fragmented pieces capturing these raw, in between moments in it's own dissected typographical language.
